By golly, this Finnish band is the perfect solution for those who just haven't gotten enough of the sound popularized by the likes of Dark Tranquillity and In Flames (with Amon Amarth occasionally peeking in). Enter My Silence has a sound that is so down pat of this style that you're going to be checking your CD player on occasion to see precisely what band is in there. In fact, Enter My Silence goes as far as getting their cover art done by the very talented Niklas Sundin of Dark Tranquillity. And yes, it would be easy to shred this band to little bits, but that would be denying the fact that their debut, Remotedcontrolled Scythe, is actually quite good from beginning to end. Vocals are straight out of Michael Stanne's throat circa The Gallery, the guitar harmonies and leads are pure In Flames from Whoracle and the basic rumble is reminiscient of Amon Amarth. Regardless of all that, Enter My Silence still somehow overcomes their cloning experiment and entice listeners with nine well-written, crunchy tracks that show off the best of the style, rather than the worst. I guess if you are going to do something, regardless of how overdone it has become, you might as well do the best you can. Those who have had more than their fair share of this style are encouraged to go listen to something else, but remaining fans of any of the above influences should consider this a glowing recommendation.
