Next time these chaps come to your town, be sure to exercise your childish tendencies by running up to the stage and taunting, "HA-HA! You're not the Chili Peppers or Faith No More!" Not that this will rattle them in any way, but at least you'll have that one golden opportunity to point out the excruciatingly obvious influences on this up-and-coming band. We all know the style at hand. They used to call it funk metal but in this day and age that term is a bit an anathema. Cool kids don't use it. Ask your friends if they still use it in polite conversation. Regardless, Incubus still is on that wavelength and they're actually going quite a bang-up job of it. Mixing Patton/Kiedas-esque vocals over a shake your fanny groove interspersed with turntables and a mix of light and heavy guitars, there will be something here to getcha dancing if you're inclined to do so. Yes, I have to knock these boys down a few points for not being particularly original, but if you've ever fully enjoyed the funk-metal thing, this one is aimed right at your ears.
